Burnout: Cops & Robbers DLC priced

Postby voodoo341 » 28 Apr 2009, 14:08

I'm buying this as soon as it's available even at that price. It looks like great fun and Criterion have done a fantastic job supporting this on the PS3. It's one of the few games that actually makes use of the web browser.

That's a bit s**t for PS3 players. Yeah it's only £1.20, but still.

re-skinned cars with a flashing light on top and a re-hash of an old mode.

nearly a tenner - aye right, do one.

the free DLC doesnt even balance that out. overpriced for what it is.

ya can tell E.A's belt tightning is behind this.
the ps3 version costing more than bill box is fecked up and 10 euros (for us irish) is a joke.
ill just dig out burnout 2 for the cops nad robbers mode ta very much.

hasn't this happened a few times recently and not just with EA products. wasn't outrun a bit more expensive on PS3 as well. its p**s poor and the only reason i can think of is sony possibly taking a larger cut or charging more to put it on. i can't see a reason why the developer would charge a higher price on one console unless its to recoup a loss somewhere on it. if its the same content then surely it should cost the same on both.

PS3 owners were stupid enough to fork out the £270+ plus for the piece of s**t 3, they can afford to fork out the extra moolah for shiitty DLC for a s**tty racing game. f**k you criterion.

You and Standard need to get a room together.

Just because some people spent more on one console than the other doesn't mean that anyone "can afford" to pay more for the same content.

The only potential justification would be any extra programming required for the CPU, but that still sounds like bull to me.

You could argue you get what you pay for: inbuilt wi-fi, free online play, Blu Ray . . . I owned a 360 first and got my PS3 later on and there's no doubt in my mind that the PS3 is better value for money.

Having said that I will be getting the Burnout DLC for the 360 (er, because I have the game on 360 not on both). I'd guess that the prices are different because it's points vs actual money and the money to point equivalent would have meant charding 873 MS points or something daft like that.

Is the cop chases mode offline too? i watched a dev video on it and wasn't clear if these modes were for offline or online.

I don't really play this online tbh and possability of Killzone 2 DLC this week (which i don't mind paying for :p)
