"Significant Interest" shown in buying Free Radica

We can only hope that someone does. It would be a shame for the independent studios to all close especially homegrown ones.

"Significant Interest" shown in buying Free Radica

Postby WHERESMYMONKEY » 22 Dec 2008, 10:56

Good news for a monday morning. Don't let timesplitters die. It'd be a sad day when the gameing public can no longer shoot monkeys for sport and japes.

Wonder what odds I'd get on MS or EA snapping them up.

The administrator saying that "Not a single person had been made redundant" completely contradicts what I've heard directly from a mate who worked there, who said that's exactly what's happened to him. Odd.

I think it's fairly obvious that we are talking about Timesplitters 4 and Star Wars Battlefront 3. That being the case, I can't see why someone wouldn't want to take those on, as they are successful franchises with highly established fanbases.

A no-brainer surely...

If it was down to them 2 it might be MSoft that go for it as EA are closing studios all around.

Didnt EA publish the last timesplitters game? it would kind of make sense for the to pick up 4 as they published number 3.

Battlefront being a Lucasarts licence would surely be picked up by one Lucasarts dev teams.

But if MSoft get it(and this is all supposition remember)will the PS3 see Timesplitters? Also was Haze really that bad?

Although you like me own both so it wouldn't be a problem for us.

Only really played the demo of Haze thanks to all of the negative press, though I'm sure I won't be able to resist picking it up for 8 quid at some point when I have nothing really in my backlog. I doubt it's as bad as the internet has built it up to be.

Haze was ok, I found that it was more fun playing as the Mantel soldiers, using that loopy juice.

I hope the new battlefront gets picked up and finished, although far from perfect, I always enjoyed plying them. I never played any timesplitters though, it kind of just past me by..

That wouldn't suprise me, most probably a victim of hype.

Let's just pray that Nintendo don't buy them (never thought I'd be saying that) though they may be really that desperate! :?

I think that's the main reason why Free Radical went under. Lucas Arts took the licence for Battlefront off them. I don't know who they gave it to or even if they have given to anyone.
