Why opt for PS2 over PS3? Crazy decision.

Mind you if the ex-Naughty Dog guys already got PS2 code experience theres no reason it shouldn't look great, even on the older console.

I also predict it'll probably drown in the winter games deluge!

Maybe they're going to release it on PSN. That seems to be the trend on the PS3 these days.

There are also a lot more DS's in the world, but they aren't releasing it on that platform...
Or the Wii, for that matter.

He's right though, I'm sure the reason for the PS3 snub in favour of the PS2 is purely based on potential sales for the PS2 version.

As for the Wii and DS, maybe they don't think this is the type of game that will appeal to those type of console owners historically.

Really? Do many people out there buy a game for console from last gen?
The only game I'd consider would be Shenmue 3 on the Dreamcast.
I say consider... I mean for as long as it takes to order online.

I'm all about moving forward.

If indeed those dollar signs change directly to pound signs it wont exactly be a budget title (well for the 360 at least).
What you need to remember is that there's what people want to hear, there's what people want to believe, there's everything else, THEN there's the truth!

It's only last gen. if you've bought one of the latest gen. machines.

With sales of 120-130 million PS2's and the console still selling, of course there's still a market for devs to develop games for it. Activision aren't releasing the game on PS2 for nostalgia, it's obviously a business decision.

Using that logic wouldn't either

A) All games be released on the PS2

Or

B) The game be released on ALL Formats
As millions, I'll return.

As is the trend in the games industry, softco's tend to concentrate their games on the latest hardware but if they aren't seeing a decent return or they think that an older machine will be more likely to see better sales and hence profits then it's a no-brainer to release it on that format...I'm sure if it does sell well on the PS2, this won't be the last title we'll see getting developed for it.

why is nobody noticing the obvious? it takes more time and money to develop games for the PS3, Wii and DS because they're very different from the regular 360 PC and PS2. simple as.

This is a budget game, the PS3 is much more difficult to program and would defeat the object of the project which i would assume is to make a game on a reasonably small budget within a short development period. Those who bought early PS3s with backwards compatibility should be able to play it so i guess that covers most of the gaming market while staying on budget.

Looks kind of like Syphon Filter - which is no bad thing. Looking forward to going EVEN MORE overdrawn. I estimate it'll retail @ £25 on 360 and £20 on Steam.
