Smash Bros flies out the door

Postby User removed » 04 Feb 2008, 16:31

Numerous reports have said that the new Smash Bros game has sold more than 700,000 copies since release(4 days ago). 500,000 copies were sold on its first day leaving many stores without stock. From whats been said its sold way more than Devil May Cry 4 which got a release on the same day.

So, all in all a good week for Nintendo then and a good week perhaps for the more hardcore gamer. Good sales will surely convince other developers to make games for the long term gamers, especially as sales of some of the new casual games have plummeted.

Are you not always saying that all the Smash Bros news should just be on one thread? :P

It's the most anticipated game on the Wii until Zelda emerges, with a following as strong as the Smash fan base people are ready to fight a war for it, currently it's Nintendo's most popular franchise.

Cheeky sod lol

I was going to put it in the Smash Bros thread but I think its good new overall for Wii owners in terms of "proper" game sales.

See, I do put some thought into this stuff.

Can somebody please tell me what all the fuss is about with SSBB? I missed SSB on the 64 and GC so have no idea what all the fuss is about? A few guys at work will not stop talking about it! Is it really worth wa*king over?

No, its not worth wanking over. And if thats what your friends are doing then you should really get new friends.

It is worth playing though and has built up quite the following.

If some people feel inclined to 'express their love' of SSB in that way then..well..go ahead!
It is a great game though. If you want to try it, you could always look for Melee on ebay and try to get it cheap?

I've tried and getting it cheap is not an option... :(
If nothing else works, a total pig-headed unwillingness to look facts in the face will see us through.
