The first lady of gaming heads underground...

Man, it feels good to be writing about Lara again without the nagging impression that the old girl was so past it she ought to have been embarking on a Saga holiday rather than another jaunt to ravage the hidden tombs of Peru and Nepal.... read more

Tomb Raider Underworld

and thank the Mayan gods that Crystal Dynamics have the Raider reins instead of Core.

What do they have against Core
If you want to blame Angel Of Darkness on someone, blame it on Eidos.

I've yet to see a C.Dy game that has a true TR soul and feel to it.
(Anniversary excluded, since it's only a re-done prettier version of the first Core game.)

Just in case you haven't seen any screens doing the rounds on the internets yet, check back at 5pm for proper high-res ones...

No blame Core, each Tomb Raider was progressively worse than the last

have to agree. the first one is still the only one i could be arsed playing all the way through. Uncharted taken this type of game to a new level and i don't think Tomb Raider's got the legs left in it to do anything spectacular.

I aggree, i was VERY unhappy with the direction they took Tombraider, far too much shootouts and crap non-tomb locations.
The next game sounds like its going to be good but i will check it out before i get it

I actually really enjoyed Legend, it was different but I wouldn't have expected them to stay with just the Tomb Raider I & II style of play, by today's standards it started to play very dated.

This really looks like Uncharted on the PS3. I suppose there's only so many ways you can show a ancient jungle ruin.

I hope Underworld isn't going to be rip off of a rip off of the orginal Tombraider.

just finished LEGEND,it was okay but still had those 'jumping in the wrong direction you are pushing the analogue stick in' problems..always having to fiddle about with the camera before jumping is getting annoying...but no doubt i will stick with it(again)to see how this one turns out
