Review: It's the bomb!

Earlier this month we realised just how steep some Xbox Live Arcade games are. 800 Microsoft Points sounds cheap on the tongue in the same way that Euros are like Monopoly money when you're off boozing on a Greek island. But what you're actually paying for Doom and Texas Hold 'Em is £6.80. Almost seven quid. For Doom!... read more

Bomberman Live

Postby mattu » 18 Jul 2007, 18:08

I love bomberman but the 800 points price tags of these arcade games do take the p*ss! Sega released two classics last week in sonic and the rather average golden axe but at least it was priced at a respectable 400points! neigh on 7 quid for 15 to 25 year old games is way too high! That said I may make an exception with Bomberman!

I agree with you on the price, but with bomberman I couldn't resist!

I bought it last night and I absolutely love it. New life has been breathed into what was a slightly tired but still classic game. Up there with Texas hold em and Uno as my favourite live arcade games. Recommended.

I bought this last night. only tried the classic game so far but it brings back great memories and the graphics are pretty good and in the spirit of earlier versions. I like the custom players too.

It's just under £7 for a fully featured and arguably the best Bomberman evah!

As long as you have gold you're gonna get waaaaaay more than your moneys worth.

The view point is slightly too angled and the bombs don't pulse like they used too. Other than that, it is a good version of a classic game.

My wife was disappointed that the eggs of the Saturn version aren't included though.

A fully featured online game with Nintendo style graphics costing £6.80; upto 8 players all laughing and whooping at the same time?

How very excellent!

And after downloading last night and getting a group together... it was!

Best. XBLA Game. Evah.

I own a 360, a Wii and a DS thanks very much. Not everyone with a 360 just wants to play FPS's you know, although saying that it does have some good ones! I love them all equally.

[rant]stupid comment, 360 has more class the ps3 and wii combined. Most 360 owners like great games, thats why we have a 360. Also who does rare works for these days? rofl [/rant]

As for bomberman new and improved, this is one of my all time fave multiplayer games.

Absolutely brilliant!!!

I love Dyna Blaster and many other Bomberman clones, one of the best multiplayer experiences ever. But I also remember networked Super Bomberman multiplayer suffered a lot because of the lag. :(
