... <big breath> both wiimote and nunchuck have accelerometers in them (something like 6?) they know how the controller is being held / flung around, so if you hold it upside down, it knows it is being held upside down, or on its side and so on, it can also calculate the speed at which you shake it and stuff. The wiimote then also has a sensor that using the infared light from the so called* 'sensor bar' placed by your TV works out where, in relation to the TV screen, your wiimote is pointing, hence some of the light gun type functionality of the wiimote with some games.
As for Heatseeker... the advert was really good, it made me think the game looked good. I love flying shootem ups like this (Crimson Skies on the Xbox sets the bar currently, Nintendo have had great trouble making anything decent, thoguh Pilot Wings is pretty darn good) and from the looks of it you use the nunchuck as the joystick and the wiimote to do your weopons stuff... although there did seem to be some gesture sensative stuff going on with the nunchuck and straff... which might freak me out a bit... why would I waggle my joystick to eject straff? how would my joystick know I wanted to eject straff and not actually make the plane waggle...
Feel like I need to get my hands on this title before I can tell if it is any good.
*'So called' because it doesn't actually sense anything it just emits infared, which the wiimote 'senses'
