Road Rash-inspired racer hits Kickstarter goal

Postby Vhyper1985 » 10 May 2013, 22:03

Huzzah!! Congrats to the team behind it! Was following this recently, they must have made quite a bit at the last minute as when I checked yesterday they were still a ways off hitting the target. Either way looking forward to seeing how this game turns out, it's been a while since I played Road Rash :D

Road Rash-inspired racer hits Kickstarter goal

Postby sh4dow83 » 10 May 2013, 22:08

Whenever people get their asses off the couch to do something that people who have the actual licenses collecting dust should've done long, long ago, I generally think it's a great thing.
With this, I'm a bit on the fence because it does look very last-last-gen. So it could be some trashy thing they just churn out to cash in on people's nostalgia. But if at least the gameplay will be alright, count me in :)

YES! I'm super excited for this! Pledged a stupid amount of money on it, but I'm so happy it got funded.

That's not the final visuals in the trailer. :)

I'd rather it come out with solid gameplay than be upset about the visuals. Especially when the possibility of better visuals would add verrrry little to the gameplay experience and these aren't even that bad. At times even this videos smoothness looked a little prerendered.

interesting.. but, i'm not so fussed on that camera in the video, hopefully it's at least steady like in the Road Rash games.

it could turn out really good, on the other hand i have a feeling it might end up being shallow with not much to offer.

In the trailer I saw a while back I didn't think it looked all that good at all. Like an I phone game or something, and it had guns in it?!

Wii U release and no PS3 release? How do the economics and demographics of that work out? Oh That's right they don't.

The game was practically made looking at the trailer, what's the money for?

Congrats to them. I would have backed it if they had said it would come to Playstation as it looks like a lot of fun, but ah well, never mind.

QQ more Hans!

(I think it's cos the WiiU and 360 are easy to port to and the PS3 is, apparently, difficult. Don't worry I'm sure the PS4 will get it if it's a hit and you can rush to forums and bash WiiU and 360/720 owners about a texture you imagined looked a bit nicer once!)

Nice, used to love the Road Rash series so it's good to see a similar effort with updated graphics. I'm sure I'll grab the 360 version if it does get funded, if not I'll probably get it for the WiiU as I'm planning on buying one soon.

I fell for a crappy Road Rash clone on the PC years ago called Jacked. I remain dubious on this one; of course if I'm wrong then I'll be getting this ASAP.

For those who haven't seen Jacked in action.

Here you go.

I paid 99p for it from a local store and still didn't feel like I got value for money.
