Is that Link costume available in game as well? Or is it DLC?

It's split into parts (hat, top, trousers, boots) and found as fortune cookie prizes. The same way I got the "hero boots" (Link's boots) in the diary, I could have just as easily got the shirt, hat or trousers instead. You have to keep buying fortune cookies each day to try and win the costume (as well as other Nintendo-related stuff).

He can try calling it lending all he likes, but let's see him try to get it off me!

The gaming press almost always gets games early to allow us to get reviews written up in time for the game's release. Don't forget Nintendo still needs to produce the cartridges and distribute it to shops around Europe before it can go on sale!

Granted, they could probably make it available for download now, but if they did that then hardly anyone would bother waiting for the cartridges and retailers would fall out with Nintendo, making them less willing to stock key games in the future.

He'll get it back one way or another.

5 weeks is very early though isn't it?

Sounds good, thanks for the reply.

I remember when there used to be a section about this in ONM. Chris always made me laugh and he's successfully done it again. Please make this a regular thing. I'm always willing o take 5 minutes out of my day for Animal Crossing.

Sounds pretty cool. Surprised you start off with a tent though. Something a bit different is nice I suppose. And free foreign fruit. What's not to like about that?

Well, now I want the game more than I did before. A whole month more to wait too.

I remember it being said a while back that there was going to be no paid DLC for this game and everything could be found on the cartridge you buy. Whether that's changed in the year or so since this game has been out (with Nintendo starting to embrace this kind of thing a bit now) remains to be seen. If they don't go down the DLC route then top respect to them.

I think a lot will be available through streetpass/spotpass.

Also can you only get 1 fortune cookie per day?

Yup. Probably because a lot of people already have the maximum 300 Play Coins and since they're 2 Play Coins each people could theoretically rinse the game of all its Nintendo-themed goodies on day one.
