Wolfenstein: The New Order announced for cross-gen platforms

Postby Stan_Goodspeed » 07 May 2013, 14:14

Why not... Starbreeze wasn't too shabby a developer, and the last Wolfenstein game - while not as terrible as many claim it to be - had some room for improvement. Could be lots of fun.

Hopefully it will be nothing like that game that was lossely based on Syndicate.

Don't muck this one up - or you will make a very powerless enemy.

Interesting....
Killing Nazis is way more fun than zombies.

The Riddick games were, well, ridic. Butcher Bay at least, can't really speak for Dark Athena. And to be honest, I rather enjoyed the most recent Wolfenstein. It was a very competent game, not revolutionary, but it did what it wanted to reasonably well. Shooting was solid, the weapons were satisfying, and killing Nazis will frankly never get old. This definitely has potential...

DISAPPOINTED! So after all the s**t BJ pulled off the Nazis still win????
For me the charm of the games surely is the fact that its based in WW2?????

Ummmmmm... the games have never been based in reality. They take place during WW2 and involve the nazis, sure, but they never depict anything true to life. If anything, this new time period will add a sense of atmosphere and uniqueness to the game to go with it's magical/scientific themes.

Starbreeze people and Wolfenstein have me thinking of the undead World War moments of The Darkness. Good developer that will definitely add something to the series. I'm thinking the departure of these key people who were part of Starbreeze to make MachineGames is one reason why Syndicate was so incredibly average and bland.

WRONG! Killing Nazi's with:
- Death Rays
- Laz0rz
- Miniguns
- Sniper Rifle's
- Call of Duty
- Nuclear Missile bombs
- Shotguns
- Plasma Cannons
- Death Ray Lazor plasma cannons of awesomeness
- Rocket Launchers

Is more fun than killing Zombies.

As long as they get blown up and mangled I don't care how its done.

Why are these muppets still employed? They are going to f**k it up like they did Syndicate. Another franchise dead and buried.

As far as I'm aware the new team has key members of the original developer and MachineGames was founded shortly after Dark Athena was released. The Starbreeze you have now is responsible for Syndicate and is most probably only made up of a few remaining scraps of the original team plus a few recruits. EA being the publisher probably didn't help either.

got a feeling the next-gen version will barely make a splash among all the launch stuff for nextbox/PS4, and will be going up against BF4, CoD, GT6, etc. on PS3/360.. :?

I liked the previous 2 Wolfenstein games, but I'd rather see the series stay in WWII era. Besides, the hero of the previous games would surely be pushing 50 in the 60s. BJ Whatsisname.
