PS2 had Timesplitters.

You can have your realism and uber graphics.

PS4 launch line-up 'the strongest of any Sony console'

Postby shev » 25 Apr 2013, 18:09

I hope that they don't release all their games at launch or many will be lost in the turmoil. It's better to space them out so that each game gets the attention it deserves. This feels like it should be self-explanatory to anyone within the gaming industry but I'm just saying it because they really just went full out on the vita, only to later stand there with very little to offer in terms of "new" games.

Edit: It already looks pretty solid imo. I think that I'll pick up infamous, Knack, GTA, Destiny, Watch dogs and perhaps even driveclub at or close to launch.

It won't feel like a proper launch without a new Ridge Racer.
Like a midget at a urinal, I was going to have to stay on my toes.

Yep, and it's about quality, not so much quantity anyway. Hopefully at least one of the launch games could become that elusive "killer app", like Wipeout on the PS1, Mario 64 on the N64, or Halo on the original Xbox :)

I'd also like a new Ridge Racer: Shibuya 2013 club edition. And a new Tekken/Virtua Fighter and Ace Combat...

Too true Mag. First game I bought on PS1 was RR & Tekken, first I bought on PS3 was Motorstorm & RR

Only on PS2 did I miss a RR title

Id love a new Ace Combat an all, but something more like Ace Combat 2. I reckon that was the best one with its cool soundtrack.
The jap version of AC3 was awesome too...even though i didnt know what the hell was going on story wise.
Its gotten so melodramatic/serious nowadays...i gave up after AC5.

I think heavenly sword 2 will be a launch title possibly due to the direct to video movie coming out eventually.

Not been funny but I will believe it when I see it (from either MS or Sony) No 'lead-guy' from either talking it up will persuade me, it's highly subjective, show me the money!!

Only decent launch line up for a Sony console was the PS3 for me.
Currently playing: Mario Kart 8 (Wii U), Pokémon X (3DS), Wario Land 3 (GBC)
Next to play: My Girlfriend is the President (PC), Kirby's Epic Yarn (Wii), Hyrule Warriors (Wii U)

Hmmm, you claimed the Wii U launch lineup was the best and that was before you'd played the games.

Double standards once again.

As much of a Playstation fan I am, Playstation machines normally have fairly weak launch line ups so the bar is not that high really!

Two main games I got my eye on is Killzone SF, and Watch Dogs so far. Im waiting to see what else Sony announces later on. I also want to see more gameplay on most of the games that have been announced already to make my mind up before launch.
