Get GTA 5 with 1600 MS Points free via Microsoft

Postby DiamondDogs » 05 Apr 2013, 23:25

Nice little reward for the Xbox folk, but I don't think any online reward would stop me from buying a physical copy of a game. Just me probably. I hope they announce it for the Wii U though, it'd be great. Hopefully we'll find out at E3 whether it is or not. Anyway, nice article.

If you order from the MS Store, you get a physical copy of the game. They ship it to you and it's delivered on the release day.

Like I said "No offer". I'd prefer to buy it in store myself instead of waiting for it to arrive.

Very very tempting but two things:

1. How is the MS Store for delivery times?

2. Like DiamondDogs, I do fancy popping out into town to rub shoulders with the unwashed masses, the riff raff, because GTA V is an event release, I kinda wanna feel that buzz when I pop into GAME or if I don't have any other choice my local supermarket.

What I want to know is, as I was still on my PS2 when GTA IV was released (not to mention got every PS2 GTA as Xmas presents), what's the chances of GTA V selling out in stores on launch day? Has it ever happened? I've never had any problems with the likes of CoD and FIFA but GTA is a different kettle of fish.

I picked up GTA IV from ASDA at midnight and there was a huge queue. I'm not sure if they sold out but there was definitely a big demand for the game. I live in a very small town as well.

Something that needs to be noted is that they only ship to the United States of America.

Canada and the rest of the world appear to be out of luck. Which is really silly on their part.

Its only in the US, i checked the UK store and they dont even have GTA V on the site yet. Although if i remember right the last time MS offered something like this they did bring the same offer to the UK, think it was Halo 4....

Should really be stated in the article coz you know, this is a UK site.
Some cheerleader at school or hot secretary at the office may not think you are cool but let’s be real, those very same bitches don’t love bacon and still use IE to explore the web.

I got my copy of gta IV from game on friday and the guy who was working there said they had over stocked so I can't see it being a problem, its a decent offer when english supermarkets offer games at 29.99 when you buy a £20 live points card but how much will it sell for on MS store?? £50?

This site alway posts a lot of US only news that is completely irrelevant in the UK. Back to the point how does the MS store price usually hold up with street prices. Are new releases £40 or closer to the £55 RRP? Because the offer, if it were to come to the UK, would be redundant if the price is higher.

A thoroughly well researched article! If it was £40 and 1600 points free (worth about £11), that would be a pretty good deal though!

Is this because MS points can't be used on the next generation?
