How is this a "waste of resources"? It is actually the opposite, by simplifying the live-streaming process it helps developers. I'ts actually pretty smart because the easier they make it the more developers and such will use the YouTube platform and that's more people visiting YouTube, so it benefits YouTube and developers.

I have to agree. If PS4 has dedicated hardware inside which enables it to easily stream games and such, then surely that is resources that aren't being used to power games. It also adds extra components to the system that push the price up.

Also, I seem to remember a while ago, someone was trying to stop all online streaming/videos of games as a breach of copyright. Did that get discarded?
