Battlefield 4 'confirmed' for PS4 - report

Postby ________________ » 28 Mar 2013, 00:37

With the same game launching on completely different architecture it might hint at others such as GT6 that could be a PS3 and PS4 game simultaneously.

All I really want to know is if I pre-order the PS3 BF4 SW and then later buy a PS4 will I then also need to purchase another copy specifically for this console?

ie will the PS3 and PS4 BF4 SW version render the same on a PS4 console.

Hopefully it will support no less than 64 player battles. Also if you are allowed to integrate a keyboard and a mouse then that might be a good reason to go for the PS 4/console version (if you don't have a very powerful PC).

I'm guessing not, due to entirely different internal hardware, but it would be cool if they included both versions on a single blu-ray disc, if there is enough space to do so.

This would be a reason for me, to go with the 720 version, the beauty of consoles is that everyone's got a level playing field in regard to controls.
And if you have different servers for keyboard and another for pads then all you do is split and dilute the community even further, dedicated servers have done enough damage already.

If the PS4 runs the same graphics as the PC version on full settings I will be waiting for that version. I really hope this blows COD out of the water because Activision need some stiff competition to up their game and stop churning out broken games with crap connections and lag.

If the PS4 wasn't coming out, I'd not be buying this for PS3. However if this comes out for PS4 launch I might pick it up.

Just my opinion, but I think that will be for multiplayer. I wouldn't be surprised to see the campaign mode @ 1080p/30

Okay well then the PS4 version is the one I'll be waiting for. Unless there's a 6 month difference in release due the new consoles inevitable delay until late spring next year in the UK, then I'll get the xbox version.
Do you want Chilli on that?

Wouldn't be a big surprise if Microsoft has stopped EA from officially confirming a PS4 version.
Why? Well Xbox 720 (or whatever) doesn't officially exist yet, so if they go announcing multi-format next-gen stuff, but can only say PS4 at the moment, then it makes that particular console look like it's getting a shed load of games that you can't get better/similar else where.
I can't wait until Microsoft just come out with a bang and then we can start getting some proper confirmation of possible next-gen launch titles.
Imagine next-gen versions of BF4, GTA5, MGS5, AC4, COD etc.
Would probably be the biggest and best multi-format game line-up for any new console launch.
Add in some console exclusives for both consoles and you can't lose as a gamer.
