I thought it had already been nerfed. Completed it about 4 days ago and it only took about 3-4 attempts to get past the Trial of Archimedes on Normal. Can't really see what all the fuss was about for it to be nerfed like this and it was defo Version 1.02 when i played through it. Didn't find it difficult at all, i was actually a bit disappointed by the lack of challenge in the game as a whole. It took me two nights to complete it in about 8.5-9 hours on the first playthrough. Not as good as 3 for me and the story doesn't make me wanna go back through it Hard or New Game+. The most annoying thing was however missing out on fully maxing out Kratos (Blades of Chaos lvl5) by 2,400 orbs to find i could not just top up in the New Game+ because trophies are disabled. Wounded.

2 things:

1. do we have the choice, I for one like the difficulty turned to the maximum.
2. Why tell me that chapter 28 is near the end of the game?? I am buying this at the end of the month, perhaps a mild spoiler would not go a miss.

God of War games always seem to do something to muck up the trophies. Before it was when you used the costumes or treasures and now when you use new game+. So why bother putting it in when the majority are just gonna go start the game on a new save file to mop up the rest of the trophies?

Was stuck on these trails for a few days but finally did it . Its just a wee space you have to fight in and those dam gorgons with there tail swipe .

I still couldn't do it on normal after the patch but I put it down to not really caring enough to really try as I thought Ascension, up to that point, just wasn't particularly good.

I agree with a change on normal or below but anything above that defeated the purpose of having higher difficulty. I almost got to the end of the second stage of hell on normal pre-patch before getting killed by a cheap shot so should be able to complete it now. :P
