Kojima Tweet seemingly confirms Phantom Pain involvement

I think people are being very cynical with this whole phantom pain business. Perhaps there is a developer called Moby Dick studios head by a Joakim Mogren. Cosmetic similarities don't equate to MGS5

Going slightly against the grain here,

but wouldn't anyone else be super stoked if this is a all singing and dancing new IP?

A part of me hopes this is the case.

I don't believe Moby Dick studios have made a game before so it should be a new ip...

Tough question. I'd love some brand new game from Kojima Productions, but at the same time their resources are limited and with so many exciting ways to extend their already established universes - between a highly hypothetical ZOE sequel and the incredible Cold War mythology behind the MGS prequels - I'd just be happy with MGS5 starring Big Boss, really.

Besides, I think MGS has more than enough room for exploring many topics and ideas, so I'm not convinced Kojima would need to create a new IP from scratch to explore anything that crosses his mind.

Thats a valid point, the MGS series is wacky enough to go in any direction and use different gameplay mechanics at the same time. Looks like the case with these trailers.

I do love the hype and PR with this game, I don't think us gamers have been surprised for a very long time now.

I really don't see why everyone is so confused.

Joakim is an anagram of Kojima.

Producer, designer and director?

This has me very excited. Wasn't MGS1 the last game in the series he did all of those on? MGS1 is arguably the best in the series.

If Mogren's CG interview was anything to go by then there is no question!

I'd say MGS3 and the original MGS are vying for first place IMHO. I think Kojima held all of the aforementioned roles in all MGS games except MGS4, but I could be wrong though. Either way I'm pumped for Ground Zeroes/Phantom Pain.
