Aliens: Colonial Marines console update released

Postby Penguin101 » 21 Mar 2013, 10:56

Can anyone let me know if this patch actually makes the game worth getting, or is it just rolling a turd in glitter?

If Gearbox have any decency they'll devote the rest of their existence to improving this game.

it is ok. my mate whos is an aliens freak bought me it for my birthday and we have hooked up few times to play co-op.

i would say though that it isnt anywhere near as good as it should be. but, if you can pick it up cheap then its not bad. much more fun in co-op though.

also, dont play on anything less than hard. its too easy otherwise

I've played and finished the game, i enjoyed it despite it's flaws, if you just enjoy aliens and all the sights and sounds instead of trying to pick faults then it's still a good romp, just don't expect AAA quality.

Ps, as said above, i also played it on hard.

What about the improved textures the patch was apparently going to deliver? And the aim assist should be able to be turned off, its far too aggressive.

Awful game, still no graphical update (but that may never happen as a texture update in last PC patch made it 4gb download)

Best way to deal with this game would be to nuke it from orbit, only way to be sure!

Such a massive disappointment for Aliens fans and gamers alike

might be worth a look. all the videos i have seen are so compressed i doubt grain would be visible anyway

At least they are fixing it! With such a bad reception a lot of developers would of just left it.

They should leave some bugs in, otherwise what will people shoot at? :P

Lets just say this how bad the film grain is I am running Aliens Colonial Marines on an
Intel Celeron 2.4ghz
3gb ram
Geforce gt210 512mb

and it was running fine graphics looked ok but then after i updated the game it felt like my graphics card was faulty as the aliens had little blue specs in them and i havent played it since as i cant stand the site of it now.
