'High-profile' Microsoft employee Xbox Live accounts hacked

Postby Moribundman » 20 Mar 2013, 12:19

So do these f**kers have my credit card details? Or do they just know my birthday and those stupid survey responses I sleepwalked my way through? If this is something where I need to protect my details again I really think MS should fess up.

We are aware that a group of attackers are using several stringed social engineering techniques to compromise the accounts of a handful of high-profile Xbox Live accounts held by current and former Microsoft employees.

Relax. I love CVG, but this is a hyperbolic sensationalist headline.
Firstly, this is social engineering, not hacking. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_engineering_%28security%29
Secondly, you're not a high profile Microsoft employee, are you?
I like cake.

Hell yeah.

Other sites have said that general user data was taken, not just MS bigwigs...

No one is sacred, I'd change details anyway, just in case.
