Wii U troubles continue in US, despite 40% sales increase

It increased 40 percent and we are still complaining? What if it increases another 40 percent in march with 3 big titles?

":Console performance lower than worst ever period for original Wii"
This isnt the wii, its a different price, different time, ect.Anyway, 3ds continued to do very well.

At least give it until the holidays when more software comes out to doom it

because sega failed in the hardware race and ended up just putting all it's IPs out on everything.

i'd imagine (would hope) nintendo would do the same if they failed on the hardware front this time (or any other time in the future).

therefore saving me buying 3 systems (like back in the days).

"Then it will still be doing poor. Do you not realise how percentages work?" Yeah I do

Sega's situation and nintendo's are apples to computers

Although nobody really needs a ps3 and a 360. So If I had to choose 2 systems it would be ps4 and wii u.

A universal system is more a pipe dream although I wouldnt be apposed

That won't happen. The Wii U won't fail because Nintendo won't let it. Look at all the people claiming Sony are falling and the Vita is dead yet it's now selling more in Japan than the 3DS. All they need is to cut the price, through either another, more slimlined version with cheaper manufacturing costs or biting the bullet and selling at/under cost and making the money back through software (something very feasible since they have the digital store to sell loads of stuff through)

If it was £150-100 there would be people lining up to buy them, I know I'd be one of them. Nintendo will never let their first party games be released on other consoles. If they were in a situation where the Wii U has been written off then they would simply develop for 3DS instead or release another home console. Even if they decide to step out of the home console business it's just going to mean a bigger selection of software for 3DS.

They've made money on all fanboys rushing to the shops at launch day. If it fails it's still profit for them.

The problem is that while developers are busy making multi platform titles for PC, PS4 and Xbox, good old ninty are going to be left out in the cold.

Adapting multi platform games for the WiiU is going to involve changing a lot more than the control interface. If devs are utilising the benefits of 8gb of ram they are going to have problems with a WiiU version which simply will not stand up to the task.

The WiiU's strengths will have to come from its first party games, because it won't be able to compete on a next gen level.

I can't recall, did CVG post anything like this: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/vi ... -PS4-Event
Anyone remember? Because you know aside from clueless forumites Sony is effectively a dead brand name and a dying company.
40% sales increase - "troubles continue". Are you kidding me? This is supposed to be journalism let's tone down the bias.

It seems some would-be Sony fanboi do in fact like mario games?! Who would have thought it... There is a higher probability of Wii U players having god of war on their console than Sony ever seeing anything even remotely nintendo. Sony doesn't really have that much I.P. so I'm not even sure nintendo would buy, MS, likewise devoid of I.P. would probably outbid.
