I remember saving up my winnings for that bit too long, and buying that one superbike, which means I just sped off and raced alone for 20mins.
Thinking back I should of spent a bit more time punching people off their bikes.

anyhoo, yes please.

This needs to happen. If they have to do something new why not add in a bit of open-world fun like Forza: Horizon.

I can still hear the music from the Hawaiian track! :D

I'd buy it, no doubt. I can't believe i'm saying this but it would actually be perfect for today's online multiplyer.

EA will demand an always online connection, microtransactions, a pathetic single player experience and pointless challenges. It'll be NFS with bikes.

They'll ruin it.

Road Rash should be hard. The roads should be narrow, one good punch should down a rider and crossroads should make you fill your pants.

When you consider how many Need for Speed games EA has knocked out over the years, most of which have been crap, you'd of thought there would of been a Road Rash game. No Road Rash on the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, Dreamcast, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii, seems EA have been way too busy with Need for Speed and FIFA milarky.

Road Rash 3D had open world (or branching streamed track geometry if you have to be pedantic!) long before Horizon, TDU, NFS, Burnout Paradise etc:

Ea did do a provisional study into adapting Road Rash from Burnout's game engine but decided just to add the bikes to B:Paradise instead. There's a piece of footage on the internet from that initial test:

Played Road Rash on 3DO, to this day still the best version

Probably put in at least 40 hours in order to complete the game with the Bose character

As far as arcade racers go, Road Rash & its fighting at insane speeds and powersliding on Ridge Racer Revolution, nothing will ever really replace those two goliaths

In fact I'd bet if you put a 3DO in front of me today, or a PS1, with those games, I would find them more entertaining than GT5 or Forza.

The only reason old games keep getting reboots is so they can pocket all the extra kickstarter cash.

I'm not sure if I want a straight updated Road Rash game for £15 that's fairly barebones or if I want a full on release which has all the production values and cool style of that 3DO version for full price.
Road Rash 3D0 was what got me into Soundgarden and the overall cool style of that game probably sold more 3DO's (maybe a dozen) than any other title...expect maybe Need for Speed.

I feel a new title would have to be a downloadable game sold cheap to have any real success. Prove me wrong though, I want to be proven wrong :P
