EA halts SimCity marketing support

Postby micka » 08 Mar 2013, 21:05

I initially had a problem installing the game even though I had the retail copy. It got stuck on 25%. After searching online I found a fix relating to a problem installing Direct X. Got sorted and away I went...

After playing the game for a few hours (the game is excellent by the way) I was constantly seeing a message in the top left hand corner saying there was a problem with the server.

After quitting out to take a break I tried to log back in at about 18:00 and still cant 2 hours later. Ill leave it for tonight and hopefully it will be fine tomorrow.

It would be nice to get some free DLC for having to put up with this totally unnecessary and completely avoidable delay but Id imagine it to be wishful thinking!

had to have a lol at this, its actually quite refreshing to see all the mags not leap to the defense of EA over all this. Im sure it will all calm down eventually and the game will be fine but ruining a game for paying customers just to shut out some pirates is kind of cutting off your nose to spite your face.

The gaming sites are hardly coming out and saying this is absolute shite and EA should apologise for, what is a long line of utter let downs. If you are going to expect us to take up a service then they should, well just f**k off. I'm Saul_Iscariot on origin but EA can f**k right off.

i'm pretty sure that ea knew it was going to happen (after all the same issues occurred on the press servers but to a lesser extent), the difference is that ea didnt care because they would already get the money from people buying it on pre-order / dd and money is all ea care about, certainly not its customers or dev studios.
