Gosh, why on Earth would Nintendo have kept this secret?

I can understand these days with the advent of on disc DLC (thanks Satan!) making you pay for extras, but in the old GC days and before you got extra modes etc for actually advancing through the game.

I would have thought the inclusion of AX mode would have been a major selling point when this came out.

Mind you, Nintendo do have a history of stupid decision making....

To this day, the fastest, slickest high speed racer on the planet. Always was better than Wipe Out - and you knows it!

It is quite bewildering isn't it? A full game included as a bonus feature, even if you had to unlock it, would have been a major selling point for the best futuristic racer ever to grace a console.

This game is still stunning. One of the few games, if remade, would convince me to buy a Wii U.

And that still happens today.

Anyway, in this case, it's probably just a lazy port- create one piece of software that detects what kind of hardware it's being run on, and displays relevant menus based on that- the story here probably isn't "Arcade game hidden in GameCube release", but "Gamecube game hidden in arcade release".

THis game is even better looking on the wii in gamecube mode via component and using the ntsc version rather than the pal one. set it to 480p 60hz and youll notice the difference.

Can you use gecko for this?

How do you get action replay to access it? I thought they'd firmwared the Wii to prevent action replay and freeloader for GC games working? I'm annoyed as my daughter has my GC and Action Replay.

I miss this game so much, it was so much better than Wipeout in my opinion with it just being down to pure racing for the most part. Its also the only game i've played where the airbrakes actually worked properly.

This and Double Dash were my games of choice when i had a few mates round.
