"Set for release this month, the publisher has said the campaign add-on will let players experience the franchise's "darkest chapters" as Isaac and John attempt to find a way to escape the depths of space."

If it's intrinsic to the franchise's storyline then IT SHOULD BE ON THE DISK. In short, F off EA.

In any other industry the people that screwed up would be fired, so will the bigwigs that enforced unwanted changes on this franchise either quit or get the boot? NOT IN A MILLION YEARS because it was everyone else's fault, especially the stupid customers who didn't just buy what EA coughed up. Regardless of what EA say, this franchise IS cancelled, the only reason for backtracking on recent stories is not to put off anyone buying DS3.
