I think it's a bit of a preemptive move, just like Quinton Flynn did when Rising went MIA before being turned into Revengeance.

I'd be kind of sad if David Hayter didn't reprise his role however this is inevitable, let's face it that's bound to happen down the line. And the way Big Boss stole the show from Snake since MGS3 could make for a nice passing of the torch if they ever remake MG, MG2 or even MGS, with Hayter playing only Big Boss in a smaller part and another actor taking over for Solid Snake.

I'd feel happier if they made a game in the series that I did enjoy. I know MGS series is incredibly popular with many gamers but I don't get what people like about it.

I have crawled so far sideways
I recognise dim traces of creation

Richard Doyle (MGS4BB) might voice him then.

HAS to be Hayter. It isn't Snake if it isn't Hayter! Makes me wonder if they're thinking of changing the voice, since Big Boss is getting older. Perhaps switching to Richard Doyle, the voice he had in MGS4.

I cant imagine anyone else providing the voice for Snake.

No one else would have the gutteral passion for it.

Place your worst fit for the job of voicing Solid Snake.

I'm going with Emo Phillips. The cut scenes would last for two and a half years.

Its one of those things, but if we had to be completely honest, if the next mgs game is a spectacular one and Snake's voice is a little different, we aren't really gonna care.

A great game will trump a slight change to a character's voice.
