'We had Crysis 3 running on Wii U', says Crytek CEO

Postby Edwin Carp » 03 Mar 2013, 20:29

Was it the full game they had running, or just part of it as a test?

I guess WiiU customers get to avoid a dull shooter. Yeah it's pretty, but give me the choice of Crysis 1, 2 or 3 and it's 1 every time. Although having the choice removed does suck, I would like to think WiiU customers would expect more than the convoluted mess of Crysis 3.
Bring back Super Skidmarks. Cow racing FTW.

There is a sort of je ne sais what about the name Edwin Carp...
Some say he's half man, half fish. Others say its more of a 70/30 split. Whatever the percentage, he's one fishy bastard.

I totally agree, but I never played the first one which flopped as hardly anyone had a NASA spec PC to play it. The second one was terrible. I couldn't care less if I played Crysis 3, might pick it up when it's under £10 used. But the crysis franchise is one of them ones along with many others, that's up there with the crap. There's way too many games out there which are crap to average, more so shooters. Crytek should of went back to basics with Crysis 3 and released it on next gen consoles. As for Crysis 3 on the Wii U, a total waste of time, as shooters are not suitable for Nintendo consoles.

Crysis 1 is probably my favourite FPS of all time - even besting Half Life 2 for me. The NASA spec PC was only ever needed for very high settings and beyond. I was able to run it on high/very high back in the day at 720p and I had a friend of mine who run it on low settings very smoothly on his ancient Celeron and X1650 combo - the super powered PC requirements were very much over blown.

Why are shooters not suitable for Nintendo consoles? lol.
