Sigh. I was looking forward to seeing more, not less.
It just shows to what depths the games industry has fallen. It's not about 1313 THE GAME, it's all about Star Wars - the IP.
I remember a time when new half-decent games were released practically every week and the need to put anything on hold was on account of technical issues - which rarely materialised because people were competent. Today's suits aren't about producing great games, they're just about marketing their IP and characters, which means games play out more like interactive movie experiences. In this case, it's not as if Disney aren't going to release another Star Wars trilogy for everyone to sit through - and it'll probably be s**t.
There was a time when Lucasarts could do no wrong. X-Wing, Tie Fighter, The Dig, Full Throttle, X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter, Dark Forces, Dark Forces II. This was all really really good / great stuff. I mean Christ, I've just rattled off 7 x circa 1990s titles just off the top of my head without having to think. Today, we're left sweating on the future of just 1 Lucasarts / Disney title.
It's not progress at all. The entertainment industry as a whole has become a steaming pile of sith. Arrrrghhh!!!
I feel a touch of the Palpatines coming on. Must sit down. Good. Gooooooooood.
