Hi-res images of PS4 interface surface

Postby Fr33Kye » 28 Feb 2013, 05:39

The last and second to last images look good, but the rest not so much. In addition to the awful blue color, it looks like a really bad uninspired version of a really bad uninspired UI. A lot worse than microsoft's deisgns. I mean even during the conference i was confused by the bad looking UI, i assumed it was a placeholder. The new ps store looks much better.

Hopefully they add options to change background colours and to customise UI features.

It looks like Windows Media Center with a touch of Metro thrown in for good measure.

There is the suggestion, not confirmation, that this is the case. I'm also surprised not one of our resident trophy whores has enquired when the game The Knack is coming out as it has 45 gold trophies that we know of.

It's already been confirmed that you don't have to use your real names, you can still use a username.

Have to agree with the Windows Media Center comparison, Sony need to push the boat out more on this design. Very stale.

The sharing stuff has me the most interested. Screenshots, video sharing and in a way streaming all looks nice. Simple but nice. A lot of times I've had a awesome thing happen in a game but never got the chance to share it so this feature is welcome. The rest of the stuff is just icing on the cake.

I find the pics of the users very funny. In real life they will mostly look like this....

Looks good to me*. I'd care more how fast it is to navigate and load up. The current PS3 store drives me nuts.
I need to click a ridiculous amount of times before I can download something - even if its free! :|

(*) The screens look good not the geek blob in the above picture. Although I'm oddly liking that fan in the case

I don't know who wrote the comments in picture 5, but they clearly have never played an online video game in their life... There needs to be less 'I find myself watching your videos more and more, tho I don't have this game XD' and more 'L0L!!!!!! N00B!!!!'

Anyone else noticed that his PSN name is DayZ100? I really hope that's a hint to a launch game, although I know that theres only a milliscule chance of that being true.
