Gran Turismo 6 will remain a PlayStation 3 title

GT6 will just be a big DLC update on GT5, the time it takes them to make a GT game, they have zero chance on the PS3 when the PS4 is out in ten months time.

Ok... disappointed. Whatever happened to Polyphony always pursuing the latest technology? GT6 could have been a true system-seller for the PS4. Maybe it still can be, to some extent, if there's going to be a souped-up PS4 version of the PS3 game. But really this should have been built from the ground up and tailor-made for the PS4, imo. Also Sony just said that "all their studios are working on PS4 games". I guess they just are confident that the PS4 will be huge even without it being the lead platform for the next GT.

On the PS3, I want about 12 new proper tracks. With dynamic weather, and time. And a better track creator. And more detailed online controls for setting up and managing races.
I don't mind if there are only a small number of new premium cars.
I expect it will be the last game to include the standard model cars.
They won't look good enough on PS4 going up from 1280x1080 to 1920x1080 native pixels.
GT will still be the best game on PS4, whenever it comes out. I don't have much expectation for driveclub, but i'm ready to be pleasantly surprised.

well, if gt6 is to be a ps3 title then it looks like maybe sony werent lying about the ps3 having a 10 year life cycle :D

however given when they expect to launch this wont it likely interfere with that anal retentive facebook racing game on the ps4?

With the 70+ million install base the PS3 has, It makes sound business sense and would be welcomed by me if they can improve on the previous GT game (which I still play from time to time, alot of improvements made over the years) if they have nothing substantial to add over GT5 then they should just focus on PS4.
DriveClub will be a launch title for PS4, which looks promising, and would only get lost in the hype over GT6 if it were to go head to head at launch.
No doubt they will be hard at work on a GT title for PS4.

Oh yes it was. But just quietly, and they refused to say whether it would be on PS3 or PS4, but they said something like "in 3 years time who knows"

CVG you guy are quite late with this non-story. Hearing this crap for a few days now, and I don't believe this will land on PS3 at all, considering PS3 was creaking running GT5. I think that Sony Japan will issue a statement that says this dude at SCEE misspoke. There isn't much sense in putting GT6 on PS3 not with PS4 launching in less than 10 months Sony's biggest franchise launching on the system that is on it's way out...shareholders would be livid at that prospect. Then again Sony has been known to make blunders like making two systems in a row that were both notoriously difficult to program for, who is to say they won't cock this up too?

There were always 2 GT games for any Playstation, with the first on a new console always being a souped up version of the previous one.

GT1-GT2 PSX
GT3-GT4 PS2
GT5-GT6 PS3

There is nothing unusual about this reveal (if we can trust it to be true).

What a wasted opportunity to provide a PS4 system seller. Besides that, GT5 still looks crap in places with too many re-used GT4 elements and pixelated shadows and rain effects.

If GT6 is simply more of the same I may give it miss. It'll have to bring back some of the older classic tracks properly reworked and increase the no. of 'premium' cars substantially to make me buy it. No doubt it'll have 10% Nissan Skyline as usual.

with all the recent announcements about cross gen releases I'd be surprised if we didnt see this turn up for the ps4. Sony no doubt will be keeping some AAA titles close to their chest while they wait for MS to show their card - and then drop some bombs to keep momentum going. Denny's comments if any with reassure us ps3 owners thats there's still life in the old dog yet and its not like everyone will be able to jump up to a ps4 straight away anyway so at least this will extend its life.
