I pre ordered from Shopto, no money needed upfront and without a doubt going to be cheaper than game, if you have any sense you will cancel and go to them mate.

And another thing, if Game make it to Xmas or the start of next year when its released i would be shocked. Im never pre ordering anything from them in case they go tits up and i lose my money, which is a big possibility

Its conspicuous that they dont even have a guideline price on the website, no way i would chance it.

Er? What? Why are people pre-ordering a machine they've not seen, for an unknown release date, at an unknown price?

In that case I've got some magic beans you can pre-order as well. Lets say you give me 50 quid now and at some point I'll pass them on to you (still to be determined when) oh and you'll have to give me more money (still to be determined how much)

Not worth it at that price, I'll wait to see what Nintendo do next.

Advice is thus, put aside 400 quid and be pleasantly surprised if you receive any change.

No, advice is thus, stick aside 400 quid and then wait to see what Microsoft announce - if its the same as the PS4 announcement then blow the 400 quid on hookers.

Or sweet talk someone with store discount. 20% off a £400 console would go down lovely ;)

Its a guideline price which ShopTo state clearly when you hit the pre order button. So its possible it will come down as long as you aint pre ordered from Game in which case £500 will be a reasonable price from them! ;)

And as regards Nintendo, the only thing they can do now to save themselves is release another system, my Wii u is the worst decision i have made in a long time, Nintendo can still save themselves but they would need to literally perform some sort of miracle, the Wii U is not even in the same ballpark as this system or i dare say the 720. And its clear from sales at the min that no gimmick is going to save them this time.

And by the way Bambi im entitled to say this as i own one and feel completely jaded by it at the min. So much for having faith that they would change from their gimmick laden Wii and release something worthwhile.

I'd call it an evolution rather than a revolution. Diablo III is a decent game but my crappy PC can play that now
Would have been more excited if they released a modern next-gen version of Warcraft :P
Can't see the need to rush to pre-order but I will definitely start filling up my piggy bank based on what Sony showed and Microsoft will show.

I'm 100% certain there will be a version of the PS4 that will cost less than £300.00 when it's released over here(with a pimped out version for about fifty quid more). Remember, Sony and MS are going to be competing over price as much as they will be over tech specs and game exclusives this coming "Holiday" launch window...

My thoughts exactly!!! I would pre-order with them for nothing and if they offer a price match. I really want to give them the business but would not risk my money otherwise.

Sony have apparently hinted at a launch price below 40,000 Yen around £300. I think that will not include the new Eye. Another £50-£100 includes the rest.

Expect mutliple ways to buy i.e. subscriptions, PS Plus packs, Retail.

Gakai through PS Plus will be great and will probably offer like a £5/£10 per month access all areas from the back catalogue. For PS3 games you own I think you'll be able to put your disc in then play the Gakai version for free as console is not backwards compatible but can probably identify the disc.

I preordered at GAME, Shopto and I'm on the list on Amazon, just waiting for a few others now.

After losing my Vita deposit when Game nearly went under, I will be preordering online this time.
