Our local Tandy (remeber them) used to have one and I caught the sale rep putting in the password (Whoosh) and was able to get in every time I went in there.

If it's 17" then the price is about on the money for the spec especially if it comes with a decent windows version.

Yup! Crazy.

A family friend bought one for their kids (my age), I was immediatly tech support for them (a precursor to the rest of my life).

Absolutely crazy machine. Plus the PC side had Amstrad's decidedly dodgy naming of their processors, it packed that well known Intel chip the 4386SX. It was a 386 SX, but a 4 was put on the front to trick people who didn't know what they were looking at.

Shady bastard that Alan Sugar.

dont think i'd buy a laptop just because of a cover, but i doubt it will be long before you can get a sticker/wrap off ebay or somewhere for your own laptop which would probably cost 5 or 10 quid

Is it a Sega-designed laptop or a rebadged version of another model?

Then it'll be out dated in a few months. For that money, you could net yourself a Wii U (£300), PS4 (£400) and Xbox 720 (£400). Maybe even squeeze in a Vita (£200) and 3DS (£150).

I really don't see the point in this. Wouldn't you just buy a retro cover for your existing laptop if you wanted to?

deonebjc wrote:The mega-PC is back! Anyone else old enough to remember that?

Yep, I really wanted one of those back in the day. I think it was either a 386 or 486 if I remember correctly. I did like the white joypad, it looked pretty cool.
