Dunno about that. I'm not too fond of Dodo, the treacherous backstabber. :P

I'll wait for E3 and a beefier release schedule. Then the price cut. Then I'll buy one. It has lots of potential, and I've owned every Nintendo home console so far so I'll eventually get one if only for the exclusives, but it needs more than a Wind Maker remake (as gorgeous as it looks) and a sequel to Bayonetta (that may or may not end up multiplat à la Rayman or RE4) to make me shell out.

Well this site is so notoriously anti-nintendo these numbers must be lies.
Some say he's half man, half fish. Others say its more of a 70/30 split. Whatever the percentage, he's one fishy bastard.

Those figures are disastrous if true - although I imagine most people would get one on release or at Christmas, and if they didn't what has there been in January to entice potential buyers?

Obviously one awful month isn't enough to doom the console, but I have a feeling February's numbers will be similar as again there is nothing out for it. Even the stuff in March isn't out until the end of the month...

Indeed, I saw an article published here that claimed Iwata likes to drive past the unfortunate with a loaf of bread, attached via a fishing line, being dragged behind his car. He calls it Urban Fishing and likes it so much he might make a Mario version of it FACT*

I tend to, but I think the story speaks for itself. Sad as it is everything points towards the WiiU being a bit of a damp squibb (at present)

Yeah, I am going to ambush him tonight outside Gala Bingo and pour custard down his tights. That will show the toerag who's the boss.

I have no opinion on this story and my opinion isn't related to it, but I do wish Nintendo would go software only.

Thanks Monkey! (ticks off bottom-right square)

Now I just need "stealth" to...

Oh come on! That misspelling was just to cheat me out of my winnings, wasn't it? Have to hope for a "vgchartz" mention now.

Regardless of whether the U is next gen or not.
(In my mind it is a more efficient this gen that if optimised would be twice the current gen)
The actual hardware is worth the money its just as with all hardware it needs the software.
I'm not saying Nintendo's IP's are bad, they are good, I just don't see any of them as great and great software is what the system lacks.
Super Mario Brothers U does not look like a next generation game to me, sure its pretty but its merely Wii HD.
Does it really take advantage of the justifiably expensive hardware?
No is the simple sad obvious answer.

Performance wise the console isn't being pushed by its exclusives.
Multiformat suffers multi launch and is often the last to release and offers nothing above the competition.
The system is short of a genuine blockbuster, it needs something that the Xbox and PlayStation cannot deliver.
Something so optimised it can only be on the Wii U.
