If anything they should 'reboot' Homefront, instead of attempting a sequel.

I have not played the original, so cannot comment on personal expectations.

It is, however, good to know that Crytek are committing to this franchise and hope that they do a stellar job because I am really keen to purchase Homefront 2.

I'm kind of curious of how Homefront 2 is going to turn out. I never played the first one but I did read about it and seems like its' one of those games that: wasn't great but wasn't terribly bad either. So hopefully the team will use the experience they got from the first game and build on it to nearly perfect the second one. And if it plays out alright, I might give it a try.

You beat me to it, you're spot on. THQ created a fantastic universe for the Homefront setting which really gave you a real in-depth to the fall and capture of the US. Unfortunately all of that was wasted on a very dull and short FPS.

In my opinion, the next Homefront should have hub based levels or some form of sandbox gameplay, at least then you could get a real sense of retaking USA.
EA Sports: It's in the game(for a price).
