So how many times more powerful is this compared to PS3?

Not sure I like this 'share' nonsense, unless it is game footage you have captured..

Hold on, fella. Wait and see if they have any games you want first. You don't want to be investing so much in a pair of high powered door stops now, do ya?

I'm sure that the release titles will be absolutely crap and there will be moaning and groaning for about 9 months until some decent titles come along for either system. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the current tech and would be happy if the next gen doesnt arrive for another year or two, but I'm also interested in new shinies and am positive that MS and Sony will get some good titles out :D

But I'm a day one adopter, always have and my day one consoles are still going strong too

160GB hard drive? Really? In 2013? 500GB minimum, especially if everyone's so keen for us to invest in digital downloads...
Let's just discuss, not fight.

4x Dual-Core AMD64 "Bulldozer" (so, 8x cores) ?????????

Is that 4 dual core processors? That would mean it's got a total 16 modules so yea 8 cores. The heat off four processors and power draw of the processors would be insane, bullshit there I called it.

This is AMD right now
http://arstechnica.com/business/2013/01 ... 8-billion/

The company might go bankrupt in as soon as 2 years. Why would you trust all your main next gen hardware to them? Unless Sony would continue to have manufacturing rights (AMD don't fab the silicon) or something? That would make later iterations more difficult though.

With my limited knowledge it looks very similar to the xbox specs, although there is less detail here.

I read the bit on the other site about the accounts and can see how it would work potentially and looks to be a good idea.

Aye. I'm sure this will be the case too. Oh and the bugs and missing features, don't forget them

Hey, not long now until the actual reveals of the next set of consoles. I'm hoping they have some games to show us too. Tech demos won't really be enough. Not with us gamers being such a demanding bunch of whiners these days

These are just the development kits. The actual consoles will be quite different.

Also on the other site it mentions that these are dev kits only and they expect the drives to be bigger. Plus if like the PS3 you should be able to upgrade them too. The issue is that the tech isnt moving as quickly as the data though.

pardon my ignorance but why would you need 2 ethernet ports?
I don't even use the one on the PS3, just wi-fi. I just wonder will they be using a fan that sounds like a hair dryer again?
