I think it's better than being fixed in one spot having to wait your turn, which is the one reason I was never a fan of the genre. I feel it gives you alot more freedom which is why, even though i've never been a fan of JRPG's, I might give this a go.
I'ts been getting great reviews, which got my attention in the first place.

I am going to buy this on the US PSN today. I know the game was delayed in the EU because of a shipping problem but I don't see why that should delay the release of the digital copy! Playstation Europe need to pull their socks up and match the US release dates because its just too easy to buy from the US store and get the games earlier. I am also baffled on the state of Games on Demand for Xbox I presumed when Microsoft saw Sony doing day one digital they would follow suit however that seems to be far from the case.

Played the demo and loved it, The combat is good, I always prefer a hack a slash combat with deeper elements but this is as real time as it may get. Still felt quite good.

Inspired visuals and soundtrack, has to be up there with the best in terms of graphics and art style, didn't expect the game to have that much wow factor.

Impressed. :)

Beyond Two Souls, Last of Us, Sly Cooper and this, seems Sony are planning on a PS3 blowout. Wonder how many people will be too busy playing Call of Duty online to notice any of these games? Anyways, here's hoping for Tales of Xillia too :)

Could have it now if some generous, slightly senile, hairdresser car driving friend to us all bought us a $60 PSN card for the American store.
Here's a lockpick, now jog on.

I reckon he would of if we'd warned him about Trine 2! :P
