Flashback HD looks set for consoles and PC

Postby leprechaun75 » 22 Jan 2013, 15:52

this is the just the type of game the PSN is crying out for, the original was a classic. maybe we might see a HD version of Another world as well.

There was a game very similar to flashback on PSN called 'Outland' (i think) If you haven't tried it, give the demo a go, as I remember it being pretty good, with a nice art style too.

I hope they capture the movement, I can still vividly remember the jump animation from the original...!

I just had a quick google but can't find any mention of it... there is already a modern PC remake of Another World, although its not a complete graphical update of Flashback it does work nicely on a 1080p panel and looks good.

Game play is still difficult as a bastard in the bits I can't remember though.

Yeah you're right, my choice of words was poor, he said "type of game" Would have been better if I had worded it better. They're not similar in the aspect of story, art design etc, but 2D platform style of game.
Though I would have hoped you could see where I was coming from.

 I can't believe they are doing it, so excited for this. All we need now is Future Wars and Operation Stealth HD updates and my gaming year will be complete.

Oooh, i would love this, it was my favourite game ever back in the amiga days, i remember the terrific sound your pistol made the first time you used it, great sounds, minimal but effective.

Now give me the first two turrican games,...oh and the 'killing game show' while you're at it.....oh fond memories.

Awesome! This is one of the standout games that I'll always remember. First played it on the megadrive and was gobsmacked at the smoothness of the animation. I hope this is literally just a remake with a few bits added. Please don't dumb it down!

One of my favourite games on the Amiga. Still have the original boxed lying around somewhere. Including the "copy protection" manual. :P

Wonder if they'll still include the bug that allowed you to run through walls.

Looking forward to it. Especially if it is anything like their Prince of Persia classic remake.
