This is what happens when you decide to completely disregard what made Diablo 2 great and go for a casualized, dumbed down, 1-click-to-do-everything approach.

Overly harsh they may be, but Wilson's own antics with his infamous "f*** that loser" comment haven't done him any favours and paint a picture of a man who is not so different to those that are mocking him.

You don't know the whole story. There is a reason why they are talking ill of him. He is not a very nice man, his comments like 'f*** that loser' to a man he wouldn't have a job without (who wasn't even criticising him) and the other bile filled venomous messages he likes to spout show that.

Plus, Diablo 3 is just not that great, it's not terrible it just lacks the good ideas from 2 and makes the game very dull, it's not fun in any shape.

This is the guy that said f**k that loser to the Diablo 2 creator or something is it Drusus?

Much less sympathy for this guy now.

Just seems like part and parcel of the genre.

It was the same in WoW, angry fat people who get the hump. South Park portrayed the type of fellow very well in their WoW episode.

When you make a game that failed to deliver of promises that THEY made, this is unfortunately what you get.

From the perspective of the consumer, the chap left the game without delivering of promises such as day 1 PVP that works.

The game is a mess. $60 for a game that is essentially pay to win.

The auction house was a mess.

I gave Blizzard a pass, after a mediocre StarCraft 2. After this debacle, I will gladly watch the HD cut scenes on youtube for Heart of the Swarm.

Valve is next of the list. HL2 EP whatever should have been cranked out years ago. Let us look at all the epic AAA games released in the last 5 years. What is their excuse?

This "It will be done, when it is ready" arrogance that these studios utter is getting tired.

Soon consumers may very well be responded with " I won't be here, when you are done!"

Whilst I don't hate this guy, i've come to hate blizzard. ever since WoW vanilla they've really turned into a demonic horrible cash hungry developer. Whether it be Pay-to-win/always online games, over price games, not to mention how poor starcraft was in terms of bringing something new to the genre. Maybe one day they'll get back on form but so far it looks like they caught the money virus from activision
- I troll without realising it
- Don't listen to a word I say

They diverted all their attention on getting Dota 2 ready for the public ASAP apparently.

And creating a line of PC game machines for the living room....

Anyways......

the problem with Blizzard was that they were not receptive to any of the gripes leveled at D3. The forums were full of corporate-speak and no resolution to paying customers.

So..... This chap writes a farewell letter and people use this as a forum to be heard. Sad I know, but I am puzzled as to what this fella expected? To be loved by individuals dissatisfies with their purchase?

What is disturbing, and perhaps a function of Blizzard's general cluelessness, is that this individual was oblivious that this response would happen.

Supreme Commander 2 and Torchlight 2 own the genre that once belonged to Blizzard. Please don't make Rock'n'Roll Racing 2 please...

Jay Wilson deserved everything that was thrown at him, he's a crass thoughtless individual who has no regard for the Diablo legacy.
