Kevin Butler settles Sony lawsuit

Yet another pointless lawsuit! I would have never realised it was the same person until all this came out!

I have no idea who this Kevin Butler character is but this seems like an utterly pointless lawsuit.

Well if you don't know who KB is, of course you won't see the point.

How have you missed Kevin Butler? He was everywhere on game sites for about a year. He's one of the best adverts Sony have ever come up with (which admittedly is not hard). Have a butchers on youtube at his ads and then the bridgestone ad. Protecting your adverts is kind of important, this lawsuit was not pointless.

He should have told bridgestone advertising the car is fine but I shouldn't be in the section with the games console.

My guess is lack of sex.

I haven't had it for ages and I'm furious.

Now why don't they top it off with the rule that KB can only ever own Sony products. Never liked the KB adverts anyways, he felt like an old guy trying to be hip and fit in with the kids. Most of the humour was cringe-worthy.
EA Sports: It's in the game(for a price).

Didn't see the point in you not seeing the point. Which in itself is a good point.

I think that was part of what they were getting at in the adverts. You may want to consider the fact PS3 isn't only for kids

I know that was the point. I never said the PS3 was solely made for kids.

So basically they own his face for a few years. Nice work if you can get it, if the makers of Preparation H are reading then i'd like to say i'm available and here's a shot to show i'll be perfect for your adverts.

Here's a lockpick, now jog on.

I haven't seen a TV advert for years and I either block or don't pay much attention to ads online, but will have a look on Youtube and see what all the fuss is about. I agree protecting your adverts or image is important, but its still a pointless lawsuit to me as I don't know who Kevin Butler is.

Bridgestone probably paid him extra to play the Wii, if not they should have as its gotten them way more attention than the original ad probably did. :)

That would indeed be a valid reason, I too would be furious.

To make it clear for some of you: Keven Butler was basically Acting CEO of Sony(or PlayStation) in tv ads. He appeared in many commercials as this "cool" and "hip" guy with a touch of slight comedy advertizing how cool PS 3 was supposed to be. So seeing that same guy playing Wii, I can see who that would cause complications because I would imagine a lot of people assumed that he wasn't an actor and Sony doesn't want any entanglements with in their case.
