US politicians blast NRA for 'hypocritical' shooting game

Postby richomack360 » 16 Jan 2013, 08:58

"There exists in this country a callous, corrupt and corrupting shadow industry that sells, and sows, violence against its own people"

I presume the NRA spokes person is referencing the gun trade in America and that there was violence before videogames came out ? I mean, did George Washington pick up a copy of Age of Empires before going to war, or did "gangsta" culture influence Grand Theft auto, or was it the other way around ?.....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Heaven forbid to think how more dreadful Al Capone would of been if he had picked up a copy of Bulletstorm from his local HMV.

Oh, come on, man, any sane, reasonable, logical person knows that Napoleon was inspired by Napoleon: Total War. Oh, and think about all those Final Fantasy-inspired murders from people with giant swords!

The list of games destroys all of his credibility really. Lets have a look see.

Bulletstorm - mostly about shooting.... Mutants not humans, also lets you ride around on a giant robotic robot and to tell you the truth that porbably was the thing i was most tempted to want to try after playing it.

Mortal Kombat - No guns here, just ninjas that spit acid and, ok striker has a a gun, but who wants to be striker when you can be Scorpion. come on.

Splatterhouse - Yet again almost no guns, and in the last twenty years, players either. No wait you could get a shot gun, was pretty ace... for killing demons not humans. always prefered the lead pipe though.

GTA ok you've got us GTA has guns in it. Its also a scathing satire of american culture so it has to have a guns in it ,because well. You guys are nuts about them.

Where was the outrage when duck hunt was released?

I am no fan of the many irrational opinions from NRA spokespeople but shooting a gun isn't violence in the same way as slicing cheese with a knive isn't violence :|

It being rated as 4+ is just indicative of how not violent the game is.
It hardly means kids are going to be playing it at nursery school :P

I believe that US Politicians should be rated Age 4-7 ... and that is being generous

Why does the UK have such low gun crime ....... because its near impossible to obtain a firearm.

Why does the US have such high gun crime ...... because you can buy a gun from almost anywhere.

Why is it that the UK has never had such an incident like Sandy Hook? Because there are no guns to do it with.

Do you see what I am trying to get at ..... guns are the cause. Why has it become so easy to access firearms in America? The NRA are idiots, trying to take the blame off them and instead put the blame on video games. Really stupid this issue has gotten, we'll have to wait and see if video games are banned next week. Hopefully they are not.

The non-robotic robots are a nightmare.

Dunblane. You have no knowledge of what you speak.

Violent crime is pretty much the same in both the US and the UK. The only difference is that in the US it's more often commited with guns, in the UK it's usually a knife or whatever is handy at the time. That is why there are far less people in the UK being killed with guns. We're just murdering each other with knives, batons, bricks, bottles and a myriad of other objects we can get our hands on.

Is violent crime acceptable as long as it's not committed with a gun?

In the slightly edited words of Goldie Lookin Chain, "Guns don't kill people, people do". To blame an inanimate object for the failings of Western Society is bordering on madness. Violent crime is both a societal and a cultural issue, not a gun ownership issue (or anything to do with video games), regardless of what the rhetoric in the media is programming you to believe.

Wake up people, you are being completely deceived.
It's just a ride.

I think the thing he was really badly trying to get at is it's much harder to kill 30 people etc with a cheese knife. Atomic weaponry is also not a living creature but it's easier to wipe out scunthorpe with one.

It is true though, it's all about people being bastards to people simply because they can. There's no way to ever stop it but limiting advanced weaponry will limit the damage.

Look into the Columbine massacre official story, then explore the gaping holes in that story.

Check out "The Sandy Hook Made for TV Drama Hoax" on you tube.

These mass school shootings are not what they seem.

They are more likely the work of a tyrranical government desperate to disarm it's citizens. It is far easier to orchestrate events that force citizens into demanding the confiscation of firearms than it is to just walk in to their neighbourhoods and forcibly confiscate them.
It's just a ride.
