Google ends one patent war with Microsoft over Xbox 360

Postby Skullet » 10 Jan 2013, 14:37

Looks like Google is desperately trying to get some sort of return on its £8 billion investment, but the best it can hope for is that it doesn't lose the whole £8 billion.

Just reading another story elsewhere and it seems Google/Motorola may be trying to avoid hefty fines for abusing FRAND, Samsung looks like they will also be joining them in paying hefty fines.

Not surprising. Motorola was demanding a 2.5% cut. Had they got their way, we'd be paying another £10 on our consoles just for the video codec.
