I agree completely, their web has been best for years, where as Amazon sucks. If you took the best of both companies though it would be a real winner.

I stopped using play when I left the UK due to policy. They hold stock in pounds, but if you live outside the UK, you have to pay in Euros, but their exchange rate is so over inflated its just too expensive.

Amazons shipping and services are way better though.

i wonder if they will still do MP3 downloads though?

Since the takeover they've been bloody awful. I haven't used them in over a year easily.

I won't miss them.

I haven't used Play in a very long time due to the prices and the amount of time it takes for items to arrive.

Sad news, but like a few others i haven't used them in years. They've never been competitive for pricing since the takeover and delivery times started slipping into getting new games on a Monday or Tuesday. Also they kept messing up pre-order codes, there was a few games where i didn't get codes at all or had to phone them up to get them to sort it out.

Well this is a big win for the government. Now they've closed the tax loophole companies like Play will generate huge amounts for the economy....oh, until this new policy causes them to cease trading and therefore drain the economy by putting 150 people on the dole.

Congratulations you morons!

Think I started buying from them in 2003, or 2004. As I predicted, these online retailers closing down, gives business back to high street stores and supermarkets, which are usually more expensive. It's a massive blow for people who buy online, so now high street stores and supermarkets will hike up their prices. Next gen games will hit the £60 mark, downloads won't be any different either. Blu-ray is trying its best to kill off DVD, so mainly relying on the high street and supermarkets isn't going to help, due to higher prices. I suppose there's Amazon and Shopto, but even they have got expensive. If used games comes to a stop, it's an even bigger blow. 2013 is going to be the worst year ever for retailers, and that's only the start.

Can't they move the business to Isle of Man, or have they closed that loop hole too!

Sad for the jobs etc etc, but good riddance. Since Ratuken took them over they've gone to s**t. Over priced and with awful service.
