If this is true, and Sony hire a new company to develop the games then we might actually start seeing decent 007 games again! I hope this is true.

Good. Activision have made a complete hash of the license. Quantum was actually very good but Blood Stone was forced to market unfinished and the Goldeneye Reloaded and 007 Legends games were ill conceived and basically Call Of Duty done badly.

BTW, C&VG, Eurocom haven't done 3 Bond games. They did 2 for Activision (Goldeneye Reloaded and 007 Legends), 2 for EA (the excellent 007 Nightfire and the N64 World Is Not Enough) and 1 for MGM going back to 1991's James Bond Jr on the NES.

As for Activision's reasons, their exclusive contract ran out at the end of this year anyway. Someone seems to have pulled the plug and I wonder if Sony, seeing how Activision has made a complete hash of things despite Bond being more popular then ever, have had enough.

Dream team would be seeing Naughty Dog taking on Bond.

I hope Activision have lost the Bond license. Give it back to EA or to a reliable developer. Ativision will probably say that they will not continue making Bond games due to low sales (which had nothing to do with the half-arsed production scheme).

Now if only AMC could see what their TWD game is looking like and revoke the license for that as well!
EA Sports: It's in the game(for a price).

As others have said, the sooner Activision lose the Bond license, the better.

I was thinking about this yesterday, wierd!

Eon would be far better to find a developer themselves and not sell the licence to a publisher to crank out cheap tie ins. The original Goldeneye was a great game at the time, but it was simply a great shooter, not necessarily a great representation of the Bond character. A future title should include stealth and social RPG like elements, I actually think Bioware could probably do a great Bond game but of course they're now part of EA, Rocksteady too but alas they are part of Warner Brothers and that would create a conflict of interests.

Provided the end result is as good as your average Lego game, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Just imagine driving a Lego Lotus Esprit, or some blocky ski chase complete with John Barry-esque soundtrack. Gold.

I liked Bloodstone and QOS but the rest were s**t, as for giving it to EA please don't, I'm not sure where the 'trust' is coming from on this but if Acti can shaft the franchise of this nature then I would not bet a penny on EA doing any different. I'd like to see Rocksteady have a go at this wikth their normal slant of classy grimness.

Another vote of Rocksteady from me.

I'd rather see them make a Bond game in the style of the latest Deus Ex but with Batman's awesome combat than make a Superman game.

while i'm sure naughty dog could make a great bond game, i think the license to sell (pardon the pun) game publishing licences on the bond franchise would be more lucrative than MGM/sony keeping it in-house and platform exclusive. activision reportedly paid $50m for the licence back in 2006.. clearly not a good investment in hindsight.
