The Dana White story is my favourite and he obviously has no shame or respect for himself. All that big man talk and then he got into bed with EA at the first possible opportunity!

Flame War: 2012's most controversial gaming news stories

No mention of the 'criminal' use of the British legal system because of an article on Eurogamer? I'm not sure I can name names, reference the article or even post this but the law needs to be changed.

We wouldn't buy it full price.

Score - 8.0

I'm interested in what you were actually on about with yours. Makes me think I've missed some mass cover up conspiracy by not paying attention or because I was asleep that day!

Doritoes and Mountain Dew, or a balanced diet to Stonecold.

Oooooh yeah, I remember that now, Stonecold posted it in general didn't he.

It'll go down as a dirty little secret. Like the fact I enjoy being naked while walking around the streets at 3 in the morning.

Some cheerleader at school or hot secretary at the office may not think you are cool but let’s be real, those very same bitches don’t love bacon and still use IE to explore the web.

DFW has done everything for the sport but other than that he is a complete f**king joke of a person. This EA thing isn't much if you know what kind of crap this guy has said or done before.

The entire existence of Resident Evil 6 is pretty controversial.

i'd say day 1 patches with fix lists the size of phone books were pretty controversial even though many seem prepared to accept them.

The "Hacker publishes alleged Wii U CPU and GPU specs" news article got 276 comments... The Resident Evil 6 review (193 comments) must have been the most controversial game review in 2012.

2012 was very controversial - day one updates, Reggie thinking he was publicising a next gen machine, constant bug fixes, more unimaginative Mario games, Resident Evil 6, Ryland on X Factor, Molyneux blighting the industry with more waffle than a New York deli - but the biggest controversy, for me, was the whole Resi 6 saga / bizarre reviews in general

The way that nearly all the reviews were written by someone, who clearly had been handed a brown envelope, managed to make so many different points, some conflicting from review to review, panned it, liked it - and the review scores were all over the place - like a Scotsman driving home from the pub.

Then the immortal words "don't buy it full price" and slapping it with an 8. Tut tut....

For me reviews should be done on day 1, then a follow up review a month later, and an average of the two scores made as a final judgement - quite how someone can slap a number on a game like Skyrim after a weekend's play is beyond me.
