Why Rockstar's sequel could be the first next-gen game - but powered by current-gen consoles

There is almost too much to take in - that's the overriding response. GTA V is a game about three disparate career criminals taking on a series of heists in Los Santos. It is a game where you can switch at will between the three leads, you can go anywhere, seemingly do anything.... read more

Its pretty much The Wire played out in a bloody video game, isn't it?

Want. Want. Want! Need!

I almost feel sorry for other Games releasing next year, GTA V is gonna cast a pretty big shadow.

I always wondered why they never done that 3 game per gen, although the step ups from say III to SA were pretty large i don't think it went nearly as deep as this in terms of evolving the game in one gen, I can kind of understand now why they've just went a head and called it V, at first i never really understood why but all these details are great, i'm really looking forward to the few weeks before release when things really start getting hyped up, my first in game look at GTA IV was through some gaming streaming site where people who got the game early where broadcasting their game live to the public, it was pretty fun, everyone was too afraid to even see the missions for spoilers and what not, so we just spent like half an hour watching a dude get a taxi to the other side of town, yet that amazed all of us on the chat next to the video, i love that type of hype and i hope V can achieve something similar.

Played them all from the first one, including RDR which was great, this is how games should be made, spending lots of time on them instead of rushing them out where we end up with total crap most of the time.

However, until I see the proof of the pudding, I am not getting too hyped up over this, I have been let down too many times now in this current generation of consoles.

My only concern is that it will repeat the same mistakes that put me off GTA IV. The clunky driving and combat mechanics, were terrible. Combat and driving needs to be fast and fluid like in Max Payne 3, but still fun to drive and shoot like in San Andreas.

I didnt find the driving that bad to be honest, a bit floaty sometimes. They already said they were enhancing both though.

I'm really worried that the Xbox just won't be able to handle it.
It is all good pushing the limits, but the limits of the Xbox were reached a good year or so ago now, FarCry3 looks terrible on it, Even Borderlands2 wasn't pretty. and if I end up with a crappy version of this game I'll be gutted.
worried about Bioshock too, after hearing that it has bad pop in on the Xbox version.

I hope these games are released on next gen consoles too, I don't mind waiting a little longer to get a better experience

Still worried about the multiplayer ending up like IV's, let's hope they do a good job on it this time.

Also i'm guessing each character is going to have around 20 missions each, i was hoping 30.. that would bring it closer to the mission length of San Andreas, to be honest though i thought even SA was so big that it didn't have enough missions.

Maybe there will be a ton of side stuff to do this time.
