Darksiders 2 for £12 and 2012's other underrated game

Postby richomack360 » 18 Dec 2012, 14:51

Great selection, great prices - I, like a lot of others wait a while for the prices to come down, for the bugs to be worked out and the full DLC schedule to be revealed.

Makes better sense.

Dirt Showdown, Max Payne 3, Sleeping Dogs, and Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning were all great, I haven't played Showdown or Amalur that much, the latter I bought less than a week ago, and the former I bought months ago but have put it aside for now. KOA:R is a game that will easily last you 50 hours or more, enjoying it so far. I wanted it when it was out but didn't want to chance £40 on it if I didn't like it. For the price it's a decent game, not blown away yet.

The Darkness II is well worth the money. A fun game.

There's a few games I'm tempted with here. I'm not buying any games until after this Christmas' Steam sale though. I'm sure some of these will appear.

Just got Darksiders 1 for £6.85p on shopto.net for the 360.

Bargain.

Also got Gears of War 2 (with all DLC via Classics version) for £6.85p as well.

These maybe oldish games, but they are some the best you can get and are an absolute steal at that price.

Not sure how true it is, but 7 out of 10 games flop, so holding out for bargains makes gaming quite cheap. But DLC is my biggest gripe with games, something I just won't pay into, more so when numpties have paid full whack for games. Without people buying them new, there wouldn't be a used market, so thanks to all the guys that buy new games. But new games at them prices, doesn't mean used prices will be any cheaper. Used games selling for more than new games, or used and new games selling for the same price, shows how crazy pricing is. Computer Exchange are the biggest rip off merchants, some of their prices are just plain crazy. But SEGA and NAMCO games always drop in price, I'm not sure how they keep going, more so SEGA. I suppose Max Payne 3 is decent even for under £20, but I recently seen it for £15 new. Anyone who hasn't played it yet, stay away from the PS3 version, as they controller buttons are p**s poor, the same goes for all the Soul Calibur games. I'm 100% convinced that most games flop because of the price they launch at. If games launch at £40, then drop to £20, most people just assume they're crap games. I think there needs to be more realistic prices, even for top games. But I won't pay a penny over £25 for a game, most of which I get for under £15.

I held out for Most Wanted and Forza Horizon. I got both for under £50 new. No game should sell for over £25. I wouldn't waste my money on downloads. You're paying for fresh air.

Your implying that he won't receive anything back for his money when that's obviously not the case. Everyone has different views on dlc and I respect that but just because you think it has no value doesn't mean it holds no value to others.

Also, your comment about MP3 not working properly because of the "controller buttons being p**s poor" on ps3 is abit vague but I can't say I had any problems what so ever with the game and the dualshock3 while playing through it.

Sleeping Dogs was pretty good. If they can polish out a few of the irritating things and build on the content they will have a monster franchise on their hands. Plus that picture makes me want to get more ink done.

Kingdom of Amular is a really good game, I prefer it to Skyrim. Large diverse environment, alternate difficulties, good ability/skill trees and cool weapons. The biggest positive is that the combat is much better (in my opinion) and you can tune it to fit your play style, adding new moves etc. Plus you can wipe your abilities and skills at any point for a fee.

Also loved Sleeping Dogs, the hand-to-hand was brilliant and the last few missions were nothing short of fantastic.

Lego Batman 2 was OK, not one of my favourite Lego games. £15 is pretty good still.

Loved Sleeping Dogs, Binary Domain and Kingdoms of Amalur all great games and great prices. No excuse not to pick these up at these bargain prices.

I'm happy to see Binary Domain get some love. Sure, it's a Gears clone, but now a bad one at that, plus the futuristic Tokyo setting is ace.

It's my game of the year. I went into it with no expectation and came away thoroughly satisfied.

Actually, I've not left Amalur yet, still playing 80 hrs in.
