Black Ops 2 dev pleads: 'Go easy on Christmas Noobs'

Postby Audest_Oggust » 18 Dec 2012, 11:21

Wow. I'm not really sure how to feel about this. Most online communities' slogans are "If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen," but Treyarch is really pushing for the opposite. On one hand, it's good that they're encouraging everyone to have the same chance, but on the other, the best way to learn is by failing and learning from the best.

Nice to see Treyarch actually getting something right for once. I reckon I may well be a "Christmas Noob" this year. I've not played COD since COD 4 so Im gonna pick up BO 2!

What's so tough? A bit of "spray and pray" is all you need to be good at CoD, right?

Advice for the noobs, don't first go playing the likes of demolition or domination as you will die, a lot. Speed, corners and load-out choice is where it's at for these modes.

Tip

Balance your game correctly, and they wont have to. If you reward the pro's for playing longer, noobs will always be pwned.

Aren't COD games rated 18?
Seems they know that come Christmas day a million 11year olds will go online.

I get that is the parents choice, but when the devs acknowledge it, it takes the p$(s

Is this not the case with most competitive online games, there has to a discerable benefit to ranking up, Bops2 is probably the first COD to really reward progression.

You mean the American glitchers can't use their aimbots over Christmas? What are they to do? They' might (whisper it quietly) lose a game!

Just because you lose a lot doesn't mean the other side are cheating. I played up to 1st prestige and didn't see an aimbot, experienced lag in about 5% of games which is a pain but a quick game hop sorts it. . Do people have bad internet or something? It's all aimbots this and hackers that, when I lose and I do occasionally it's usually because the opposite team are better than me.

Remember when every match ended in 'good game', I still say that when I lose.

The only way I got good at COD was getting my arse handed to me over and over on COD4 when I started out nearly 5 years ago. Eventually after about 3 months I started going positive for K/D, and a year after I started I was doing much better. Now it's pretty easy for me on a good connection. It's good to see new people buying into COD, but I don't go easy on anyone, not even fellow clan members. Sorry 8)
