Sega is suing Level-5

Postby Ali_ » 12 Dec 2012, 08:57

And it's only taken them 4 years to realise? Seriously, Sega, grow a pair and man up. This kind of childish litigation just makes you look like petulant toddlers. Leave the greedy corporate bullying to the likes of Apple, Nokia and Microsoft.

Hang on, let me get this straight... they're suing a games dev for using Nintendo's hardware how they choose? Hell, why not sue Nintendo, the maker of that very console, for utilising such a control mechanic in the Zelda games? Or for allowing it at all?

Then again, Sega did try to sue over devs allowing players to change camera angles in games... stupid, stupid Sega.

by the way, level 5 have now responded saying that inazuma eleven launched in 2008 a year BEFORE sega applied for the patent in 2009

If that sort of thing ever mattered Apple wouldnt have a leg to stand on, how many times have they been awarded a patent AFTER the competition released something similar and won a case?

Think on that, the right thing to do would have been for Level 5 to apply for a patent in 2008 and this wouldnt have happened.

@Megatron! How dare you slag off Sega! fecker! ;)

Oh Sega I love you, but oh how you dissapoint me. I thought you were better than that, but now you're becoming just another patent troll. You're trying to tell me no other game can use the screen or a stylus to move a character around? How can you even claim a patent on that? Its like saying no-one but me is allowed to breathe oxygen coz I hold the patent on that, its ridiculous, and frankly there are 1000's of Ds, Android, and Ios games that let you do just that so what are you going to do, sue them all? Good luck.
