Nintendo: Wii Mini doesn't have online functionality to keep costs down

so why is it so expensive compared to a wii that has an sd slot and online and that will let you update to a wii u and be able to carry over your saves?

I wonder if Nintendo has considered that a brand new regular Wii can be purchased for $119, which is just $20 more than the price of the Wii Mini. Any knowledgable consumer would just buy the original because it has all the functionality that the console should have.

It makes sense in a third world country where there isn't great internet anyway.
I'm certain it will do very well in Great Britain

Please tell me that the majority of Ninty games dont require an update when you first put in the game?

This console will still have all the functionality you would expect from a Wii.
Primarily, the ability to put it back in the box and for dust to gather on it.

As far as I know skyward sword is the only one, it had a bug that if you swung your sword on a full moon and on the sabbath whilst listening to johnny cash and eating a quesadilla then a save would get corrupted. Otherwise no.

I remember Nintendo knocking out Nintendo 64 consoles with Super Mario 64 for £49.99. The Wii was old tech even before it was released. I thought by now, they'd be knocking them out for £59.99. The latest model doesn't even play GameCube games. The Wii Mini is a very bad idea. I've never seen anything like it in terms of design. The Wii Mini is worth nothing, you can't even go online with it. But come to think of it, I wouldn't even by a Wii at any price (the old model). The Wii U is over priced, so when it drops, best investing in one. If you want to play GameCube games, the consoles don't cost much used (under £20 easy). Even the 3DS XL at up to £180 shows how crazy gaming can get. The 3DS should be £99.99, XL model maybe an extra £20 or something. Sony won't shift the Vita until it's £149.99 with a game.

That could mean both the Wii and Wii Mini.

*chuckles*

I jest. I love my Wii gathering dust, under my TV (got a WiiU now though so the Wii will be passing off to the daughter and missus anyway).

Seriously?! That price is extortionate even for the tech that's in the original Wii, and they need to cut stuff out?

That ugly thing looks like a retro console from the 80s.
