May get one of these to replace my laptop thanks to the USB drive! Never use disc based software anymore...

Not as bad as I was expecting, around $1200. I won't get one at launch though, the rumours of the Xbox tablet has me intrigued...

Same, but it'll fail if there's no physical controls on it.

I'd imagine it will and be compatible with the joypad, if it does exist.

Late to the party and overpriced to boot. It's all very well holding your own in the console market against tame opposition, but I think this tablet will be a harsh lesson for Microsoft.

It's not a tablet, it's an Ultrabook. Compared to other Ultrabooks it's decently specced and fairly priced. Eg the similarly specced 11" Macbook Air is $1099 on the Apple store. The 13" Asus Zenbook Prime is $1080 on Amazon.

It's a tablet. It's marketed as a tablet, being called a tablet and looks like a tablet (the keyboard is a separate peripheral that needs to be purchased separately).

This is an astounding bit of kit. A tablet that runs your desktop software, has a full USB port and a great display. The OS too is a lovely bit of work. I want one of these but prices in Ireland will determine how soon I get my hands on it. I think if Microsoft market this right, it can topple Apple's stance because this is a hell of a lot better then an iPad!

Let's hope it doesn't suffer from the same problem affecting the other Surface keyboard attachments
