Awesome- but it better not be a first or third person shooter.

New Microsoft studio working on 'Halo-sized' franchise

Postby Drusus » 29 Nov 2012, 15:36

What does 'core' mean? I know there's casual games and hardcore games but Microsoft keeps using this word core games and they only seem to call casual Kinect games by the title. Is it an attempt to get kinect classed as hardcore by just changing the name of casual? Kinect games can be hardcore but they aren't the ones Microsoft are pushing, they're titles like Child of Eden that received barely any support from Microsoft.

Cannae grumble with more Games, new IP is an added Bonus.

All this chit chat regarding the Wii U is just making me want MS and Sony to start revealing there new hardware, sooner rather than later!

Yeah, same here, I don't think doing it now would help though, the people buying Wii U now will be buying regardless of what Sony/Microsoft do, when it gets nearer a tasty £200 that''d be a great place to strike. Coincidently right about June. Still I'm bored and want something to talk about so now would be good.

There always leaks..

A Vib Ribbon style rhythm game with a fashion design angle and a gotta catch them all attitude, scan in your new blazer for super fast blazing 8x power up notes, help when facing off against it's last boss a witch who breaks any control pad hooked up to the system that doesn't have nice stitching.

It's going to be a great big multiplayer space combat game. FPS games are so cliche, so the best way to keep the shooting, adrenaline, customisation and multiplayer is to put you in spaceships dogfighting. Kinect is in so you can should 'Divert all power to shields' and other such stuff that there aren't enough buttons for. I've already pre-ordered it.

I distrust patriotism; the reasonable man can find little in these days that is worth dying for. But dying against - there's enough iniquity in Europe to carry the most urbane or decadent into battle.

A copy of GTA: Universe. Like GTA but there are space vehicles so it's half gta, have rogue squadron.
Some say he's half man, half fish. Others say its more of a 70/30 split. Whatever the percentage, he's one fishy bastard.

I lost interest when the word "Kinect" was used.

we're looking to build the next Halo

If it's another spiritual successor to Halo, the sci-fi shooter genre on the Xbox is going to get crowded...

Article says it'll most likely be a shooter. As long as it isn't a military one, I don't mind.
