Halo 4 server connection problems being investigated

Postby MrPirtniw » 29 Nov 2012, 12:55

Woah, I stop playing Halo 4 for a couple of days and look what happens! Not too bothered as I've been 'Hitmanning' but I hope they get it running smoothly soon. Imagine the horror of having to play a lesser FPS like CoD instead!

I'm glad the new maps are coming next week! Halo 4 is great but people only ever vote to play Haven or Ragnarok which gets old after you've played them 10 times in a row.

I only play Spartan Ops, MP deathmatch on Halo has never been my cup of tea.

I hope this explains the lag I was suffering last night, if it's not them then it's me, and I relaly hope it's not me.

I got input lag on Spartan Ops a few nights ago, the screen and enemies moved fine but my controller was about 1-2 seconds behind. It felt like my spartan was skidding about on ice and the delay on the gun or grenade throw was just too off putting. Quit out the game and restarted and everything was working fine, played through the first 5 episodes of chapter 1 and on the last episode my mate started getting serious lag to the point of the game being unplayable, i had to finish off the Knights (and got my assassination) by myself on Legendary whilst he spun around and fired blindly, it was murder. Haven't been on it since but i'm planning on doing some more over the weekend so i hope its sorted for then.

Yeh same here. It was weird, I could still get headshots and that, but I couldn't stop myself from moving as it felt I was on ice.

I've had this problem since day one, must drop a line on the Halo Waypoint forum, maybe that'll get it sorted.

That's exactly what I had last night.

I felt like Bambi (the Disney one), my grenade would freeze in the air as soon as I threw it then a second later it would teleport to the target, it was just unplayable.

I quietly blamed Crispy then when he left the party and invited me to a new lobby it started working ok then, so yeah Crispy's fault in the end.

Beasts like myself can't be deterred though, in one of our super laggy Ops missions last night, I got so frustrated and thought feck it and just charged at a Hunter, just started t**ting it with my pistol repeatedly for like 10-15 secs, it didn't know what had hit him, that must be the first time ever that anyone's used that strategy against a Hunter because I ended up killing it without taking any damage .

I still don't know how you survived that. Although I'd say it was me and Carbon shooting it in the back whilst you distracted it that actually killed it, and not you meleeing it... Gutted when I ran into the hunters and said 'don't worry, I have a shotgun so step back and watch the master' and they pinned me in the corner and killed me, yet you survive your daft assault on them.
